‘We Always Have To Go Out To Eat Our Opponents’ – Pedri

Barcelona midfielder, Pedri Gonzalez was among the stars of the show when the Blaugrana club defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 at the Parc Des Princes in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

With the exception of a brief interval early in the second half, Xavi Hernandez’s team played an outstandingly well. Dominating their opponents for the majority of the contest.

With a brace and an outstanding all-around performance, Raphinha stole the show. But nearly every player made a significant contribution—even the substitutes had an effect.

One such player was Pedri, who entered the game off the bench and had an immediate effect. When the score was 2-1, Pedri’s brilliant pass set up Raphinha for the equalizer.

After a protracted injury layoff, it was incredible to watch the 21-year-old perform at his best from the very first touch of the game that evening.

According to Barca Universal, Pedri told the media that Barcelona are among the best teams in the world. And that they should play every game like this—ruthlessly attacking their opponents.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve played in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and we’ve done it one on one. We are one of the best teams in the world and we always have to go out like that, to eat our opponents,” he said.

“The Champions League is complicated, it forces you to go out like that. They put you in behind, you have to know how to suffer and score on the chances you get.”

On April 16, Barca and PSG will play the second leg of the UCL quarterfinals at Estadi Lluis Companys.
