Aston Villa Set To Compete With Arsenal, Man United For €70M Attacker

Aston Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign Bologna striker, Joshua Zirkzee in the summer transfer window.

Several English clubs are eager to sign him, and according to BolognaSportNews as reported by Caught Offside, Villa have now entered the transfer hunt.

This season, the 22-year-old has scored 11 goals in all competitions, demonstrating his impressive form. In the process, he has also racked up six assists.

It will be interesting to watch if Aston Villa can prevail in the competition for the player’s signature because teams like Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Manchester United are also interested in signing him.

The West Midlands outfit desire to give their attacking lineup more variety. This season, they have relied too much on Ollie Watkins. It is unclear where the Dutch striker will ultimately end up. But he is probably going to be tempted to join the Premier League.

Arsenal’s attack also needs more depth. Zirkzee and Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus may split the goal scoring load due to the lackluster performance of the latter in front of goal.

He might be the perfect long-term replacement for Newcastle’s thirty-year-old Callum Wilson. Wilson has also experienced his fair share of injury setbacks, and there are still questions about his availability.

He and Rasmus Hojlund could split the goal scoring load at United. The young Denmark international is getting used to life in the Premier League.

Whoever signs the 22-year-old striker will have a quality long-term prospect because he has the skills necessary to succeed in English football.

It will be interesting to see if teams like Aston Villa can afford to pay that kind of money for the striker, who is reportedly valued at between €60 and €70 million.
