Man United Learn West Ham’s Asking Price For Fernandes

West Ham United have reportedly slapped an £80 million price tag on Manchester United target Mateus Fernandes.

The 21-year-old moved from Southampton for £38 million after the Saints were demoted to the Championship last summer.

Despite being one of the best players during a challenging Premier League season, Fernandes sadly met the same end with the Hammers.

Fernandes scored three goals and provided four assists while starting 35 of his 36 Premier League games.

The Portuguese midfielder is expected to leave this summer due to West Ham’s need to raise £150 million after their relegation.

Liverpool, City And Arsenal Also Interested

Man United have been identified as one of Fernandes’ numerous possible suitors along with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

The Athletic claims that West Ham intend to demand £80 million in exchange for Fernandes this summer.

Given that Southampton will receive 15% of any sale, the Hammers will be eager to maximize Fernandes’ worth.

According to the source, Man United are still interested in a possible transfer, but West Ham have not received any approaches.

Man United are planning to make two midfield signings prior to Michael Carrick’s first full season.

This is because Manuel Ugarte’s future with the team is uncertain, and Casemiro will formally become a free agent this summer.

Ederson, a Brazilian midfielder from Serie A team Atalanta, has already signed in as a Red Devil.

Ederson is anticipated to finalize the transfer before United return for preseason training in early July.
