Man Utd ‘Hold Talks’ With ‘Kim Min-Jae Agent’ As Erik Ten Hag Awaits First Deal

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on Napoli defender Kim Min-jae as a replacement for Erik ten Hag.

Kim Min-jae’s representatives have spoken out about his possible summer transfer to Manchester United. The Red Devils are apparently poised to activate Kim’s release clause and enhance Erik ten Hag’s defensive ranks ahead of his project’s second season.

According to Italian outlet Il Mattino, the 26-year-old centre-back’s move to Old Trafford is just a matter of technicalities.

Intermediaries involved in the negotiations are alleged to have persuaded Kim to leave Napoli after he helped the team win its first Scudetto in 33 years.

According to reports, Kim has a £41 million release clause that can be triggered within the first 15 days of July.

And United have been connected with a massive contract offer as Ten Hag seeks further quality in his already-competitive back line.

However, Kim’s camp has urged calm over the situation, stating that a transfer isn’t close to completion, despite contrary reports.

“The transfer to Manchester United is not true,” they told Star News. Kim Min-jae is currently focused on finishing the season.

“In the case of the English Premier League, neither the qualification nor the final standings have been determined.” There’s no reason to relocate.”

Kim is scheduled to begin military training in June, so no agreement is expected to be reached before then.

And his representatives underlined that following a successful season in Naples, he is in no rush to decide his future.

“He has to be enlisted in June, so he doesn’t have to rush,” they added.

Kim only joined Napoli last summer from Fenerbahce in a deal worth around £16m, quickly becoming a staple of Luciano Spalletti’s defence.
