Man City Set To Rival Man United For The Signature Of Young Prodigy

Manchester clubs, City and United are reportedly set to battle it out for the signing of a young Dutch prodigy, Esmee Brugts. Brugts, who is currently plying her trade with PSV Vrouwen is said to be attracting interest from both clubs.

Manchester World reported that United manager, Marc Skinner is eyeing a move for the teenage sensation.

Brugts, who is still only 19 years old, has told PSV Eindhoven that she is prepared to leave in the summer when her contract expires. And United will make a bid for the 15-time capped Netherlands international this summer.

However, a number of other teams are putting up a fight for the winger. Including WSL rivals, Manchester City, Wolfsburg, Paris St-Germain, and Frankfurt.

Brugts, a Heinenoord native, is one of Europe’s finest young athletes. She was a member of the Netherlands national team that advanced to the quarterfinals of the European Championships last summer.

She has already scored four goals for her country, including the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute against Iceland in the 2023 World Cup qualification match.

The club have already announced the signing of one teen sensation, Evie Rabjohn from Aston Villa, on a pre-contract basis. They are also rumored to be interested in Emma Watson, a young Scottish player who plays for Rangers.

Brugts would be considered a player that could contribute to the first team right away despite her age.
