Man United win nine consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since Ferguson

Manchester United‘s 2-0 victory over Hull City tonight in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final means that they have now won nine games in a row across all competitions for the first time since 2009.

United initially struggled for consistency following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as manager, but they have been hugely impressive of late.

Jose Mourinho’s side weren’t quite at their scintillating best against Hull, but they still managed to prevail, with Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini both on the scoresheet as United took a step towards reaching the final of the competition.

United’s current winning run started with a success against Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League, with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur following thereafter.

Subsequently, United managed to beat Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, West Ham United and Reading.

Mourinho will hope that his side can extend their winning run to ten games when they host Liverpool on Sunday.
