Xavi: The Superior Performance Of Barcelona Made Me Decide To Stay At The Club

Even though Barcelona won’t have a trophy at the conclusion of the season, coach Xavi Hernandez revealed today that he gave up on his plan to quit the team in the summer after the players’ improved performances persuaded him that he had a winning squad. Xavi stated at a press conference, “A lot of people, including my players, made me see that this is not over.”

A day after agreeing to change his mind with the Barcelona management, Xavi made the remarks. Though he had stated in January that he would be leaving the team at the end of the current campaign, he ultimately made the decision to stay through the end of his contract, which runs out in June 2025.

The former Barcelona player stated that both his team’s improved performance and his confidence in his ability to carry on were crucial. Although he sometimes believed the team required a new strategy, the former player of the Spanish national team remarked that he always prioritized the success of the club and the team.

Xavi denied that money was a factor. “The club president is aware that, had I left the organization prior to my contract expiring, I would not have requested even a single euro,” he declared.

“I don’t think my time at the club is over and I believe we can be successful. I’m convinced of that and these three months have made me see that. And since changing one’s mind is a sign of wisdom, I decided to change one’s mind,” said Xavi, Beta reports.
