Liverpool Would Have To Table £80M To Sign Salah’s Replacement

Liverpool have reportedly been told they will have to pay £80 million to prise Pedro Neto away from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 23-year-old has been touted as a replacement for Mohamed Salah if he leaves the club at the end of the season.

Neto looks to be one of the Premier League’s one of the hottest properties this summer after an incredible season at Molineux.

The 23-year-old has three goals and ten assists across all competitions. And he has directly assisted on a goal in four of his last five games.

Because of his outstanding form, many top teams have shown interest in signing him. And Liverpool have been brought up a lot.

According to the Athletic as reported by CaughtOffside, the Portuguese winger’s contract expires in 2027, and a transfer would cost roughly £80 million.

The Liverpool transfer target is also being pursued by teams like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle United.

Manchester United might be taken into consideration if Dan Ashworth, the sporting director of Newcastle, takes over as the transfer coordinator at Old Trafford, as he is a huge Neto fan.

Wolves had to release a number of first-team players from the previous campaign due to potential violations of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

That does not seem to be the case this year, though. As manager Gary O’Neil recently said that they will only take very serious offers after a successful season.

With questions mounting about Mohamed Salah’s future, Liverpool are expected to prioritize a new right-wing option in the summer.
