Liverpool Open To Selling Mohamed Salah This Summer?

Liverpool may reportedly give consideration to offloading Mohamed Salah during the summer transfer season.

The forward has already established himself as one of the greatest players in the club’s history, with 175 goals and 72 assists in 289 games.

At that time, he won the Premier League and the Champions League, and the 30-year-old was recently pleased to extend his contract until 2025.

Since then, the Egypt international has remained a key member of Jürgen Klopp’s starting lineup, contributing 19 goals and nine assists in 2022-23.

Unfortunately, Liverpool are having their worst season for a number of years. They are currently 16 points out of the Champions League and nine points behind the top four clubs in the Premier League.

Klopp has already admitted that big changes are required to restore their status as title contenders, while the club’s owners, who are no longer open to a sale, are believed to be willing to fork over large cash to the German to transform the squad.

But nevertheless, much may depend on Liverpool’s qualification for European football’s top league, with alternative revenue streams potentially required.

According to Fichajes, a situation may occur where it is logical to cash in on Salah later in 2023.

Salah, now 30, is at a point in his career where his value will inevitably decline season after season, which Liverpool will not overlook.

Although Salah is likely the most significant player at the Merseyside giants, there is an acknowledgement that major midfield reinforcements must be made as a priority.

If Liverpool don’t win the Champions League, Salah may want to go, so it’s been said that his club would be willing to sell him off if a good offer comes in.
