Conte takes parting shot at China-bound Oscar

Antonio Conte has claimed China-bound Oscar has wasted a ‘great opportunity’ to play in the ‘fantastic’ Premier League following confirmation of his transfer to Shanghai SIPG.

The Brazil international was unable to cement a place in Antonio Conte’s preferred starting XI since the Italian’s arrival and failed to make a single Premier League start since the home defeat to Liverpool in mid September.

With his first team opportunities dwindling, the 25-year-old decided to accept the dizzying salary on offer in China and commit the peak years of his career to the Chinese Super League.

Chelsea will receive £52 million for the gifted playmaker and make a hefty profit, but Conte believes the player could end up regretting his decision.

He said: ‘The Chinese market is a danger for all – for all the teams in the world not just Chelsea.

‘I think we must concentrate on our work. We must not think that in China there is a lot of money and they can take the players.

‘I think that this league is fantastic and to play in this league is a great opportunity.’
