Balotelli already in talks over return to Premier League – agent

Mario Balotelli has ‘already held talks with English clubs’ over a possible return to the Premier League, his agent Mino Raiola has claimed.

The Italian forward endured a miserable spell at Liverpool after first arriving in England with Manchester City but has rediscovered his scoring touch at high-flying Nice, finding the net 10 times in 14 matches.

Balotelli’s return to form has sparked talk of a Premier League comeback for the Italy international, but Raiola admits the star’s future is still undecided.

Asked if there was a chance the 26-year-old could move back to England, Raiola told TalkSport: ‘There could be.

‘We’ve already had talks with English clubs, but it’s really too early to say. We want to keep it day-by-day with Mario.

‘For Mario I always knew it [his return to form] will come. He was in his last year at Liverpool and he was very stable and not so emotional any more.

Meanwhile, Raiola has also taken aim at Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp over his treatment of Balotelli.

The German boss made it clear to the striker that he was not part of his plans last summer, which eventually saw the former Inter and AC Milan striker move to the Cote d’Azur for free on the final day of the transfer window.

But Raiola is adamant Klopp was too quick to judge his player.

‘I still think it’s a shame that Klopp didn’t give him a fair chance, but Mario is proving to himself, more than to others, what he can do,’ he said.

‘It’s his career – I think he understands a lot of things and he knows what he did as a mistake in the past.

‘But it’s useless to look back, it’s only useful to look forward.’
