Xavi Has New Plans For Barcelona Youngster Due To Key Players Absence

Barcelona is approaching its last stretch of the season, and Xavi’s team has to maximize it. Though their season hasn’t been the best, La Blaugrana can still make some progress in it. Barcelona must utilize every resource at their disposal.

Their outstanding depth at different positions is one of those advantages. Barcelona has survived this season despite the injuries to several of its key players because they have strong substitutes.

However, in their upcoming La Liga matchup against Cadiz, Barça’s other options will be put to the test once more. Currently, Joao Cancelo and Robert Lewandowski are unable to play for Barcelona in that match. Both stars will be forced to miss that crucial match owing to their cumulative yellow card accumulation.

But in their place, chances pass by for people like Vitor Roque. But they might not approach him through the most traditional channels. Barca News reports that Xavi’s new strategy with the 18-year-old Brazilian striker is to experiment with different roles for him than being the primary striker.

The Brazilian newcomer may be able to fill a variety of roles on the front line. Barcelona may rely on Roque to start as the starting left winger because Ferran Torres is another option to play as the team’s main striker in Lewandowski’s absence.

His recent training regimen has also been quite unconventional. The Barcelona forward may have a significant increase in opportunities in the upcoming games.

Xavi appears to believe that the young player performs best when paired with a more physically powerful number nine. If Ferran Torres plays next to him as a replacement for Lewandowski who appear to fit Roque as an attacking partner for Barcelona—this could also work to his advantage.
