Van Dijk In Danger To Receive Extended Ban After Red Card Against Newcastle

Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk is reportedly in danger of receiving a longer ban following his debatable red card against Newcastle United on Sunday.

After kicking through Alexander Isak to get to the ball just 28 minutes into the match at St. James’ Park, the Liverpool captain was given the game’s final punishment.

He told the Daily Mail: “Van Dijk disagreed as he unleashed a verbal volley on fourth official Craig Pawson, which was out of line.

“Depending on what is written in the referee’s report, Van Dijk may find himself in further trouble with the football authorities.”
