Nigerian Midfielder Closing In On Premier League Move After Suffering Relegation

Leicester City midfielder, Wilfried Ndidi is reportedly edging closer to the club’s exit with the player pushing for a move to Nottingham Forest.

As the deadline for summer transfers draws near, City’s next few days are expected to be hectic.

According to Leicester Mercury, between now and Friday at 11 p.m., both incomings and outgoings are anticipated at the King Power Stadium. As Enzo Maresca continues to reconstruct the team.

On Sunday night, there were rumors that Forest were interested in Ndidi. And that Steve Cooper’s side were preparing to make a bid for the Nigerian midfielder.

Additionally, it was stated that the player’s personal terms had been resolved before any potential switch.

Since then, talkSPORT have revealed that Ndidi’s transfer is “close”. And that the player is “pushing” for a deal to be finalized by Friday at 11 p.m. Ndidi is one of the players who has just a year left on his contract with City.

The 26-year-old joined the team in January 2017 after moving from Genk. Since then, he has played regularly for the team. But with City’s relegation from the league last season, he has recently had trouble regaining his best form.

Ndidi appeared in 242 games for City, scoring 12 goals and assisting 12 more. In addition to being a member of the first City team to win the FA Cup.

These appearances have taken place in the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League.
