Tchouameni Close To €100m Real Madrid Transfer Despite Late PSG Offer For Monaco Star

Real Madrid and Monaco are close to completing an agreement for the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni, according to GOAL.

The Spanish club is hoping to complete the signing of the defensive midfielder in the coming hours.

Tchouameni had determined weeks ago that he wanted to join Real Madrid, rejecting offers from Liverpool and, more recently, Paris Saint-Germain.

What Is Known About Tchouameni’s Transfer To Real Madrid?

Monaco and Madrid are close to reaching an agreement after weeks of negotiations.

The Champions League champions will spend roughly €100 million (£85 million/$107 million) for the 22-year-old, including signing bonuses.

PSG, led by incoming sporting director Luis Campos and Kylian Mbappe, moved in late to attempt to persuade the France international to stay in his homeland, but his agents met with PSG management to notify them that Tchouameni had chosen Madrid.

When Is Tchouameni Expected To Join Real Madrid?

Tchouameni is presently with the France squad as they prepare for their UEFA Nations League matches later this month.

But, in the next days, he will have a medical and then sign a contract with the Santiago Bernabeu club.

Tchouameni has been a target for Madrid for the majority of 2022, and the club has long believed he would agree to join.

They increased their efforts to avoid any surprises after Mbappe unexpectedly declined their offer to sign a new three-year contract with PSG.
