Romelu Lukaku Issues Blunt Five-Word Response To Chelsea After Impressing At Wembley

Romelu Lukaku asserts that Chelsea will decide if he has another opportunity to make an impression in England.

With Jude Bellingham scoring an equalizer in stoppage time, the Belgian team managed to hold England to a tie while he was back in London. On the way to Euro 2024, the visitors had twice taken the lead through Youri Tielemans, but the Three Lions had stopped them both times.

Lukaku will lead the line for his country and produced an impressive performance back on English soil. He came up with a stunning assist as he curled a cross with the outside of his boot to allow Tielemans to head home unopposed.

The striker remains on Chelsea’s books but, for the second successive season, is away on loan in Italy. He’s currently scoring goals at Roma with a future at the Blues seemingly unclear. He was asked if he had renewed motivation to impress when he returns but simply said: “You’ll have to ask Chelsea” which was reported by mirror.

In 2021, Lukaku made his second transfer back to Stamford Bridge after joining from Inter Milan for a then-club record price. He had a quick start, but he soon faltered and wasn’t even sure to start. Last term, he returned to Inter, and this year, he is playing in Rome.

But while he looked for a loan transfer away in the summer, he found himself in a limbo. Before he was able to arrange a temporary swap, he and a few other players trained apart from the Chelsea first team at Cobham.

Since then, Lukaku has asserted that the truth about his treatment at Chelsea has not yet surfaced but will in due course. “You know that I don’t like to beat around the bush,” he stated in October.
