Roberto De Zerbi Warned Against Taking Tottenham Job After Igor Tudor Exit

Roberto De Zerbi has been warned against taking the vacant Tottenham Hotspur job following the departure of Igor Tudor.

Spurs are once again searching for a new manager after parting ways with Tudor on Sunday, following a disastrous short spell.

The Croatian only arrived last month but oversaw five defeats in seven matches, leaving Tottenham Hotspur just one point above the relegation zone.

According to reports, De Zerbi is now considering a proposal from the North London side after initially preferring to wait until summer.

Tottenham are said to be offering the former Brighton & Hove Albion and Olympique de Marseille boss a lucrative survival bonus and a long-term contract.

However, Italian journalist Daniele Fisichella believes this is the wrong time for De Zerbi to accept such a high-pressure role.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Fisichella insisted Tottenham need a caretaker manager rather than a coach like De Zerbi, who thrives with preparation and structure.

He argued that De Zerbi needs a full pre-season to implement his ideas and would struggle to quickly fix Tottenham’s current problems.

With only seven matches remaining, Spurs face a brutal run-in that includes Brighton, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Everton, reports Talk Sport.

Tottenham’s next match comes in mid-April against Sunderland, with their Premier League survival hopes hanging by a thread.

For De Zerbi, the Tottenham job may simply be too risky right now.
