Concerns over Real Madrid’s medical department continue to rise, with new allegations indicating that the club may have made yet another costly error, this time involving Eduardo Camavinga.
The incident came just after the recent dispute regarding Kylian Mbappe’s knee injury, which the forward has fiercely refuted.
While Mbappe has disputed charges of misdiagnosis, a fresh article from L’Equipe has brought another concerning case to light, and this time, the details are harder to ignore.
What is the story?
According to the report, Camavinga injured his left ankle on December 3rd.
However, in what looks to be a severe error, Real Madrid’s medical team allegedly performed MRI tests on his right ankle instead.

Based on the results, the midfielder was deemed fit and made eligible for selection.
This decision had immediate consequences, as just four days later, Camavinga was included in the squad to face Celta de Vigo, despite not being fully recovered.
The premature return appears to have aggravated the issue, leading to a longer spell on the sidelines.
The timeframe raises additional questions given his involvement in matches during that time period.
This is because Camavinga played 69 minutes against Athletic Club before being benched against Celta de Vigo.
His illness then deteriorated, leading him to miss numerous important matches.
The French midfielder was sidelined for about two weeks, missing vital games against Manchester City, Alaves, and Talavera.
When he eventually returned, he only played 18 minutes against Sevilla.
This chain of events paints an unsettling image.
While clubs frequently monitor player fitness carefully amid congested schedules, such an obvious diagnostic error, if confirmed, could indicate deeper problems within the medical system.
