PSG Initiate Move To Sign Erling Haaland From Manchester City

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly looking to sign 25-year-old Norwegian international Erling Haaland from Manchester City after making covert inquiries about a prospective transfer.

According to TEAMtalk, Paris Saint-Germain has expressed interest in Erling Haaland. Following Ousmane Dembele’s recent statements, the Ligue 1 champions are looking for a striker and have set their sights on Manchester City’s main man. Barcelona and Real Madrid, on the other hand, are interested in signing the 25-year-old, despite the French club has made “discreet enquiries” about a possible transfer.

How did Erling Haaland fare at Manchester City?

Erling Haaland has been one of the world’s greatest players for the past half-dozen years. However, the Leeds-born striker has taken his career to the next level since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for €60 million in July 2022. The 25-year-old made an immediate impact at the Etihad and hasn’t looked back in the last three and a half seasons.

The Norwegian international has 153 goals and 28 assists in 183 games for Manchester City, contributing significantly to the club’s success during the last three and a half seasons. Haaland has also helped Norway qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having dominated the qualification process. Meanwhile, his exploits have sparked the interest of numerous top teams, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain.

A man in demand

PSG may look to sign a striker after Ousmane Dembele made recent comments that irritated Luis Enrique. The Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League holders are on the lookout for a striker, and Haaland has emerged as a plausible option. According to the most recent source, PSG has made “discreet enquiries” about a possible move.

Meanwhile, Barcelona has long wanted to sign Erling Haaland. The persistent interest is reasonable, considering Robert Lewandowski is nearing the end of his career and may leave Camp Nou during the summer transfer window. So, the Manchester City mainstay is a possible target for Barcelona, though he may be unavailable this summer.
