The Premier League have reportedly named John Brooks as the new referee for Thursday’s match between Arsenal and Brentford.
The man in the middle for that meeting at the Gtech Community Stadium was supposed to be Tony Harrington.
According to Football London, the Premier League have officially acknowledged that Harrington has been replaced as the main official for Arsenal’s match against the Bees with Brooks.
Harrington has also been removed from his position as fourth official for Tuesday’s Chelsea vs. Leeds United match at Stamford Bridge.

The referee has been directly replaced by Brooks, who is now in control, while the other members of the officiating staff are expected to stay the same.
Other Officials Stay The Same
John Busby serves as the fourth official, Stuart Attwell and Constantine Hatzidakis are on VAR, while Steven Meredith and Sian Massey-Ellis are the two assistant referees.
It might not be good news for Arsenal if Brooks referees the match rather than Harrington. In fact, with Brooks in the middle, the Gunners have won four out of seven games, while Harrington has won three out of three.
However, the Gunners’ 2-1 victory over Brighton in December was the last time Brooks officiated Arsenal. After the 2-0 victory over West Ham in October, it was his second time officiating Mikel Arteta’s team.
Arsenal have won four straight games across all competitions going into their trip to west London. They defeated Sunderland 3-0 on Saturday in their most recent match.
