Paul Scholes Delighted To See Ronaldo-Man United Saga End

With the termination of Cristiano Ronaldo contract, Manchester United put an end to their most recent issue involving the player, much to Paul Scholes’ joy.

On Tuesday night, United made the shocking announcement that they had terminated Ronaldo’s contract early due to his interview with Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo had publicly criticized the club, alleging that he felt “betrayed” after a summer transfer was denied, while also slamming manager Erik ten Hag and others.

The decision was made mutually, according to both parties.

Ronaldo stated that “it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge”.

The 37-year-old forward, who is currently away with Portugal at the World Cup, is now a free agent, meaning he can join a new club.

Scholes played alongside Ronaldo for six years at United, but doesn’t appear to have any sympathy with his stance.

Reflecting the prevailing opinion of United supporters, the former midfielder shared a post about Ronaldo’s departure on Instagram alongside the caption: “Mission accomplished… a***d!!”

Another of Ronaldo’s former teammates, Rio Ferdinand, had a slightly more diplomatic take on the situation.

“I think both parties will be delighted now,” he said on the BBC while covering the World Cup.

“He obviously did that interview with the mindset that he wanted to get out of the football club.

“[He] wasn’t happy, made it very clear, but I also think Erik ten Hag has got what he wanted as well in this situation. Both parties are happy, move on, next chapter for Cristiano Ronaldo.”
