Napoli Star Set To Leave Club After TikTok Mockery Post

Napoli talismanic forward, Victor Osimhen is set for January exit after he was mocked by the Serie A club in a now deleted video on TikTok.

On Tuesday, the club released a video showing the Nigeria international missing a penalty in Napoli’s 0-0 draw with Bologna in Serie A on Sunday. In the video, a high-pitched voice is begging for a penalty in the background.

Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda plans to file suit against Napoli for making fun of their own player in an online community. Despite the fact that the video was afterwards withdrawn.

“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted,” Calenda said.

“We reserve the right to take legal action and any other useful initiative to protect Victor.”

Osimhen helped Naples club win the Scudetto for the first time since 1990 last season with 26 goals in 32 Serie A games. The Italian team had anticipated he was going to sign a new deal to prolong his stay at the club.

The 24-year-old’s contract expires in 2025. And it is now glaring that he is no longer willing to extend it.

In the words of La Gazzetta dello Sport as reported by FourFourTwo, the Nigerian may now be heading for a January exit as a result of this most recent incident. This is going to alert Chelsea and perhaps a few other clubs.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Real Madrid recently eye the Nigerian star. Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League made a substantial bid for the 24-year-old in the summer.
