Arteta Sends Message To Player Ahead Of Brentford Clash

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has sent a message to Emile Smith Rowe to make the most of his limited opportunity as he is set to feature for the Gunners in their Carabao cup tie with Brentford.

During the early part of Arteta’s reign, Smith Rowe, 23, swiftly made a name for himself as one of the Gunners’ brightest players.

The dynamic midfielder’s 2022–23 season, however, was severely hampered by injuries. And ever since getting back in shape, he has had trouble getting reinstated in the starting lineup.

According to The Mirror, Arteta intimated that Smith Rowe will have the chance to make an impression right away against the Bees. The remarks he made prior to the game on Wednesday night.

If that turns out to be the case, the English midfielder would start a game for the north-London club for the first time since May 2022.

Smith Rowe’s absence from the public eye has drawn criticism in various circles. But Arteta emphasized that there are good reasons for him to be concerned about a player he highly values.

Arteta said of Smith Rowe in his pre-match press conference: “There’s been many reasons why he hasn’t started a match. He was out for a long, long time.

“In the last two matches he’s played more minutes and today [Wednesday] he will have a big chance to show that he can play at this level and be a really important player for us.

“He needs time on the pitch and he needs opportunities and we want to provide that to him. Then he needs to prove it like anybody else on the field that he deserves to play.”
