Mourinho “ready to start Schweinsteiger against West Ham”

Bastian Schweinsteiger is set for a sensational return to the Manchester United starting XI when the Red Devils take on West Ham on Wednesday evening.

The German is yet to play a single minute of action for United under Jose Mourinho with the German completely out of favour under the Portuguese manager, being banished to train with the Under-23s.

However Schweinsteiger- who reportedly earns £200,000 a week at United – made a surprise appearance in the first team squad this week and was named on the bench for the league contest with West Ham, which ended 1-1.

Although the 32-year-old did not play in that match Sky Sports are reporting that Schweinsteiger is about to come back into the team on Wednesday for the match with the Irons in the EFL Cup.

The report suggests that Mourinho has no issue with selecting Schweinsteiger, despite not using him previously, and has been impressed with the midfielder’s attitude in training.

With Paul Pogba suspended and Marouane Fellaini out Schweinsteiger is a real possibility for Wednesday’s contest.
