Manchester United Welcome Marcus Rashford Back Into Training

Manchester United have been handed a huge injury boost with Marcus Rashford back in training ahead of the club’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Sevilla.

The England international has scored 27 goals in 47 appearances for the Red Devils this season, but has missed their last two games due to a groin injury sustained against Everton on April 8.

However, Rashford was seen among the players during Wednesday’s session, as United prepare to overturn a 2-2 tie from their quarter-final first leg against Europa League giants.

His return to training increases the chance that he could feature in the second leg against Sevilla.

Erik ten Hag’s side have coped well in Rashford’s absence, with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest following their European home leg draw.

But the Dutchman will be hungry to get a result in Seville after watching his men implode late at Old Trafford a week ago, with own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire canceling out their dominance for the majority of the game.

Rashford wasn’t the only piece of good news Ten Hag received ahead of the session on Wednesday.

Luke Shaw, who recently signed a new four-year contract with the club, was also in attendance after being sidelined since April 5.

Marcel Sabitzer returned after missing Sunday’s game against Forest due to a warm-up injury, and Malacia also played the day before a major European match.

However, Lisandro Martinez will not be joining them due to a broken metatarsal that will keep him out for the entire 2022-23 season.
