Manchester United  Preparing A £34 Million Bid For Striker Jonathan David

Manchester United are looking into signing Jonathan David.

According to FootballTransfers, the Lille striker is wanted by both Manchester United and Aston Villa, and a move might happen during the January transfer window.

David has long been a target for Manchester United, and Erik ten Hag may turn to the 23-year-old Canadian following another wasteful performance from his current crop of forwards in Manchester United’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Wigan.

Diogo Dalot scored the first goal, and a penalty by Bruno Fernandes secured United’s place in the fourth round.

David’s contract expires in 18 months, so while Lille is hesitant to let go of their best player, they may be forced to. The estimate suggests a £34 million price tag for January.

Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho’s wage demands are preventing him from joining Borussia Dortmund on loan, according to sources.

According to Ruhr Nachtrichten, talks between Dortmund and Manchester United have halted over salary, with the latter demanding that their out-of-favour player give up a percentage of his contract to enable the trade.

Last week, it was believed that Dortmund will pay about a third of Sancho’s reputed £300,000-a-week wages, leaving United with a large bag to carry, causing them to request a loan fee from Dortmund.
