Liverpool Suffer Transfer Blow As Club Enter Race To Sign Midfield Player

Bayern Munich have reportedly entered the transfer race to sign Liverpool target, Khephren Thuram from OGC Nice in the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has received significant attention from Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer. As the Reds look to bolster their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are the two midfielders that Liverpool have already signed, but they may add another.

Thuram made an impact for Nice last season, making him one of the most highly regarded young midfielders on earth today. For his efforts, the 22-year-old was also included in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season.

But other teams have expressed interest in the France international besides Liverpool. L’Equipe reports that Bayern have reached out to Thuram over an agreement of a prospective summer transfer.

Thuram has been spoken to by Bayern. But according to the report, Nice have not yet been contacted. Thomas Tuchel is prepared to strengthen his midfield despite acquiring Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig on a free transfer.

Following the conclusion of his six-month loan at Manchester United, Marcel Sabitzer is also expected to return.

Liverpool have made contact with Thuram’s representatives but haven’t made a formal offer despite their interest in the player. After finishing fifth in the Premier League the previous season, Klopp was eager to bolster his team. And the Reds have spent virtually £95m on Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.

Currently, Thuram will not be participating in European football during the upcoming season due to Nice’s dismal ninth-place result. Even though Liverpool won’t be participating in the Champions League next season, he might be persuaded to move to Merseyside with Europa League football.
