Harry Kane Publicly Praises His Team Over Performance At Santiago Bernabéu Stadium

Harry Kane expressed his pride in Bayern Munich’s performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final, but he was “gutted” to lose the match following a thrilling 4-3 aggregate loss.

Alphonso Davies returned to Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineup following last week’s riveting 2-2 draw in Munich, and he gave Bayern the lead with a magnificent solo effort to hush the Bernabeu.

After Borussia Dortmund’s victory over PSG the night before, Bayern looked to be headed for an all-German Champions League final. However, Joselu had other plans, coming off the substitute to complete a quickfire brace and send the Madrid fans into frenzy.

The recently crowned La Liga champions, led by Carlo Ancelotti, managed to hold on and guarantee their place at Wembley, where they will attempt to defeat Dortmund and win a record-tying 15th European championship.

Bayern, meanwhile, has two games left in their Bundesliga campaign against Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim. They need to get up off the ground after missing their last chance at winning a trophy this season.

With five minutes remaining in Wednesday’s second leg, Kane, who has 44 goals in a record-breaking rookie season for Bayern, was substituted out. The England captain watched in anguish as Joselu turned the tie around at the last minute.

Gutted. Last night was tough to take,’ the Bayern striker told his followers on X and Instagram this afternoon.

‘Proud of how we battled over the two legs which says everything you need to know about the spirit of this team and how far we can go. #MiaSanMia.’

Kane’s removal from the game at such a crucial juncture has drawn harsh criticism for Tuchel, but the German coach maintained that the former Tottenham forward had been having back issues and needed to be substituted.

‘We started with a front four, and all four have to go out with cramps or injuries,’ Tuchel said to TNT Sports following the game.

“Kane was experiencing back issues, making it impossible to continue.” The four in front all declared they had to go.
