Hamann Tags Tuchel ‘A Disgrace’ After He Declared Interest Of Managing In Spain

Bayern Munich legend Didi Hamann has called Thomas Tuchel ‘a disgrace’ after he stated at a fan event on Sunday that he would like his next managerial job to be in Spain.

When a Bayern fan asked the 50-year-old manager if he could see himself managing in La Liga someday, Tuchel replied that it would ‘appeal’ to him.

“Moving abroad would appeal to me again,” Tuchel said at a fan event on Sunday.

“Spain has an extraordinary league. From my perspective, and based on my experience working with Spaniards, they are characterized by a tremendous amount of self-confidence.

“When you speak with Spanish players, I quickly get the sense that you are engaging with the person.”

His comments came less than a day after Xavi declared he would be leaving his position as manager of Barcelona at the end of the current campaign. Tuchel is also under pressure at Bayern after losing ground in the title race in recent weeks.

Despite the fact that Tuchel succeeded in winning Bayern the Bundesliga the previous season following Julian Nagelsmann’s shocking dismissal. Former Liverpool defender Hamann is furious about the rumors of Tuchels’s departure from the club.

What Did Hamann Say About Tuchel’s Comments?

According to Daily Mail, Hamann attacked the former Chelsea manager for his remarks. Calling the appointment as Bayern’s ‘biggest misunderstanding since Jurgen Klinsmann.’

“He sits down and talks about Xavi, about the successor and that he would like to train in Barcelona or Spain. That’s a disgrace!” Hamann told Sky Germany, as reported by Bild.

“He (Tuchel) is a very intelligent man, something like that doesn’t just slip out of his mouth. Only he has to know one thing: If you are an employee of Bayern, taking on the management – that is rarely a good idea.

“When I look at the last three home games, it’s subpar by Bayern Munich’s standards. Against three teams that are at the bottom, that’s simply not enough.”
