Gary Neville has reiterated his forecast that Arsenal will win the Premier League title and ‘drag’ across the finish line, despite Manchester City gaining momentum.
Arsenal’s shock home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday gave Pep Guardiola’s relentless machine an opportunity to close the deficit at Stamford Bridge barely 24 hours later.
With the scent of blood in the water, City put on a savage second half performance, finished by goals from Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guehi, and Jeremy Doku, which helped seal an easy 3-0 victory.
This Sunday’s summit meeting between the top two at the Etihad Stadium suddenly has the look of a title decider, and given City’s momentum, they will start as favourites to win, decisively tipping the balance in their favour.
Neville, on the other hand, feels that there is no need to panic and that Arsenal must learn to bounce from the loss against the Cherries.

The former Manchester United defender, who won eight Premier League titles during his time at Old Trafford, believes the Gunners will end their 22-year wait to be named domestic champions, and he sees no reason why they cannot achieve their goals.
According To Sky Sports: ‘I’ve thought for a lot of years with this Arsenal club that they need to go out and win a game that shocks the world. They must win against City next week.
‘It doesn’t matter how it happens; they may get pounded in the first half, but still be goalless at halftime, but then nick one with 15 minutes left, and all of a sudden the lights turn up and you’re nine points ahead.
That’s what Arsenal needs to believe this week.
‘The difficulty is that they don’t have anyone at the club with title-winning expertise. Gabriel Jesus, perhaps, but I don’t think he’s the type of player who will convert it to the locker room.
‘He’s a good player, but he doesn’t appear to be the type who can really set the pace.
‘Mikel Arteta is constantly looking for a method to gain an advantage, and he needs to find one this week.
He went on: ‘I believe this is the time for Arsenal.
‘I’m not going to go and say it’s now or never, but it does feel a bit like that.
