Former Gunners Manager Labels Arsenal As Title Contenders

Former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger says he believes Mikel Arteta’s team is strong enough to contend for the Premier League trophy.

The club’s summer transfers has impressed the former Arsenal manager, who believes they are now more than capable of making a comeback to the Champions League.

Furthermore, Arsene Wenger sees no reason why they cannot also contend for their first Premier League title since 2003–04.

The north London team last won the championship while being coached by Wenger. They went on to make history under Wenger by becoming the first-ever Premier League “Invincible”.

After 18 years, Arsenal is once again in first place with 15 points from six games. However, their recent 3-1 setback to Manchester United has somewhat slowed their progress.

What Did Wenger Say About Arsenal?

At a promotional event for former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein’s new book titled “Calling The Shots”, Arsene Wenger said: “I would say they are moving in the right direction.
