Man Utd have ‘Very Good Chance’ Of Signing Dortmund Superstar Jude Bellingham

Manchester United are believed to be in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the next summer transfer window.

During the recent market, there was conjecture about the 19-year-old’s future but BVB never considered selling him after allowing Erling Braut Haaland to go in the same window.

Bellingham’s contract with Dortmund expires in three years, but it is widely expected that he will leave in a big-money deal next summer.

Will Man United Sign Jude Bellingham?

Liverpool remain strongly linked with the England international, and the Reds are considered to be among the favourites to sign him ahead of the 2023-24 season.

According to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United have a ‘very high chance’ of signing the teenager next summer.

“He’s an upcoming superstar player. I am totally convinced he will leave Dortmund in 2023, maybe to Liverpool, maybe to Manchester United,” said the journalist.

“I think these are two teams that have very good chances to get him. He’s an amazing player, amazing character. Very good personality.”

Bellingham had six goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions last season, and he has two goals in eight games this season.

Since joining BVB from Birmingham City in 2020, the Englishman has contributed 12 goals and 18 assists in 98 games across all competitions.

Real Madrid have also been heavily connected with the youngster, with the Spanish club reportedly considering him as a possible replacement for Casemiro, who joined Manchester United this summer.

Dortmund’s value of Bellingham is thought to be in the region of £100 million, with the teenager proving himself in a top European league as well as impressing in the Champions League.

Will Bellingham Leave Dortmund Next Summer?

Despite the current speculation, BVB director Sebastian Kehl recently stated that the German club is hopeful of keeping him beyond next summer.

Kehl said to Sky90: “I hope that Jude Bellingham will stay at BVB beyond 2023. I can see he feels super comfortable with us.”

Bellingham has four goals and 11 assists in 67 Bundesliga appearances with Dortmund, and three goals and four assists in 17 Champions League games.

The midfielder is presently in England with the BVB squad, preparing for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Premier League champions Manchester City.
