Fiorentina Keen To Make Move For Tottenham Star

Fiorentina are reportedly interested in a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Bryan Gil late into the January transfer window with the Spaniard finding it hard to break into Ange Postecoglou’s starting eleven.

Gil joined the north London club in 2021 in a £21 million deal – that also included Erik Lamela – from Sevilla. But he has struggled to guarantee himself playing time under a string of managers, being sent out on loan twice.

After being shipped to Valencia in 2022, he returned to Sevilla on loan the previous year and then joined the Spurs team in search of another opportunity under Postecoglou.

Gil has been limited to just two Premier League starts this season. With another seven coming in as a substitute, playing for a total of 187 minutes despite Tottenham having an injury crisis this season. The 22-year-old has also been incapable to navigate his way into the first team.

According to Daily Mail, Fiorentina are among the clubs prepared to offer him a way out as they search for reinforcements to help them finish in the top four.

Even though La Viola are currently fourth in the Serie A standings, just three points separate them and Napoli in eighth. Manager Vincenzo Italiano will be aware that he needs more depth to make sure his team stays on course this campaign.

Gil could join Nicolas Gonzalez, Jonathan Ikone, Josip Brekalo, Riccardo Sottil, and Jonathan Ikone as part of the club’s current wingers.

The 22-year-old has struggled to move up in the pecking order behind Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, and Son Heung-min.

Now that Timo Werner has arrived, with Manor Solomon back from injury, getting game time will be even more difficult.
