Ex Liverpool Ace Reaches Agreement With Al-Ettifaq To Terminate Contract

Former Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson has reportedly agreed to terminate his contract with Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ettifaq just six months after making the move to the Middle East.

Henderson and Al Ettifaq have been in negotiations to end his three-year deal that he signed last summer. On Wednesday, the 33-year-old will return to the United Kingdom after agreeing to a potential switch to Ajax.

According to the Evening Standard, the 33-year-old’s miserable time in the Saudi Pro League will come to an end with a transfer to the Dutch giants.

The midfielder has been worried about losing his spot in the England squad for Euro 2024 after finding it difficult to adjust to life in the Middle East.

Under Steven Gerrard, Al Ettifaq has had terrible Pro League results. Henderson is hoping that this move will increase his chances of keeping his England spot for their friendly games against Brazil and Belgium in March.

Although Henderson has accepted his departure away from the club. But Al-Ettifaq are reluctant to let him leave and there would be no transfer fee associated with it.
