Fabinho Tips Alexander-Arnold For More Success In New Role

Trent Alexander-Arnold can exhibit his passing ability when dropping into the midfield from his right-back position as he did in the team’s 6-1 victory over Leeds United, according to Fabinho.

Jurgen Klopp continued to play Alexander-Arnold as a right-back, but now he is free to move into the center of the field and utilise his skill with the ball. This was also evidenced in the draw with Arsenal and the victory at Elland Road.

The Liverpool number 66 put on a Player of the Match performance as the Reds destroyed the relegation prospects in West Yorkshire. Recording two assists and 153 touches on the ball.

When 18th-place Nottingham Forest travel to Anfield on Saturday afternoon. Alexander-Arnold is set to keep playing in his new inverted full-back position.

Fabinho told Liverpoolfc.com: “Trent is somebody really good on the ball, with his quality of pass and finding players in behind. We can really use this. In this position, of course he will have less time to think but I think he’s a little bit used to being in this position. Even when he played right-back, he likes to drop a little bit and go to the middle.

“We can really use his quality of pass. In the last game, he gave two assists and was really good – not just with his passing but his reaction was good as well. I think in the Academy he played as a midfielder, so he knows a little bit about this role and it was not hard for him.”

Liverpool will be hoping they win the remainder of their matches in order to have a shout at the top four position come the end of the season.
