English Clubs Consider The Transfer Of Ousted Man United Star

Manchester United have reportedly been contacted by English clubs about the possibility of moving for Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood, 21, officially leaves the club on Monday, in order to pursue his career “away from Old Trafford,” United announced.

The forward, who has earned one England cap, was the focus of an internal inquiry at United after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges against him in February for attempted rape, using coercive or controlling behavior, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Now that United have made the decision that Greenwood will be leaving. Rumors about his potential move are rampant. According to ESPN as cited by The Mirror, clubs in England and overseas have already contacted the Red Devils about signing their academy graduate.

Greenwood is still under contract through 2025, with a club option for one additional year. The Red Devils have just ten days to come to an agreement on a transfer. This is because the summer transfer window closes on September 1.

However, according to trusted sources, a compromise might be reached where Greenwood’s contract is canceled and he is free to depart.

United won’t try to cash in on the 21-year-old’s departure. But if a fee is gathered, the club will talk about the best way to spend the money.

A club in Saudi Arabia or Turkey is Greenwood’s most likely destination. And he will focus on how to best reinstate his career after just becoming a father.
