Dortmund Reveals New Sancho Problem Following Man United Loan Transfer

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Jadon Sancho has suffered a muscle injury with manager Edin Terzic citing the attacker’s long exile from Manchester United as a factor.

Before his loan return to Dortmund, where he has recorded two assists in three games, the 23-year-old had not appeared on the pitch since August. Following a match against Arsenal in August, Sancho and United manager Erik ten Hag got into a public altercation that resulted in the England international missing all of the team’s games.

Two days after Sancho’s arrival, Terzic judged him fit enough to play despite his lack of playing time, as long as he continued to stay in shape. Despite having played three times in fifteen days, he may not be able to make the trip to Heidenheim on Friday because of his setback.

Speaking ahead of the game, Terzic said as echoed by Manchester Evening News: “Jadon currently has muscular problems in the adductor area, which is not surprising after his long break.

“We will wait and see how things develop over the next two days and decide at short notice whether he will travel with us to Heidenheim.”

One of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s transfer-related decisions concerns Sancho’s future at Old Trafford. Since the attacker’s contract does not expire until 2026, United will hopefully fetch a high price for him should a sale be decided upon.
