Crystal Palace Still Interested In Man United Defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Crystal Palace are reportedly still interested in re-signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United this ssummer.

After impressing during the early stages of his professional career at Selhurst Park, the defender was allowed to go to Old Trafford in 2019 for a cost which might reach £50m.

Although the former England Under-21 international made an impression at the Theatre of Dreams, he saw very little action in the first team between April and November of last year.

This fueled speculation that United manager Erik ten Hag would be pleased to offload the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.

Wan-Bissaka has now made 13 starts and five substitute appearances for Palace in 2022-23, and advancing up the pecking order has effectively killed any chance of a reunion with the club at the midway point of the season.

The Eagles were thought to be prepared to make a prolonged effort for a player who would cost a lot less than what they got for his signature three and a half years ago.

Despite missing out at the start of the year, Football Insider believes Patrick Vieira and the club’s administration are still keeping an eye on Wan-future.

At the moment, the player has 16 months left on his contract with United, who have the option to extend it by another 12 months.

With Wan-Bissaka now considered a crucial player by Ten Hag, it is quite likely that the clause will be invoked in due course, but new terms could be given.

Much will depend on whether Wan-Bissaka can maintain his present form as United seeks four trophies, the first of which they won on Sunday when they overcame Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final.
