Cole Palmer Praises Chelsea ‘Courage’ After Premier League Win Over Newcastle

Chelsea 3-2 victory over Newcastle United made manager Mauricio Pochettino happy.

Under criticism from some Chelsea supporters going into the match, Pochettino was left rejoicing at the end as the Blues moved one point behind the Magpies in the Premier League standings thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, and substitute Mykhailo Mudryk. Reported By GoalSports.

Jackson flicked home Palmer’s shot to open the scoring in sixth minute before Newcastle drew level through Alexander Isak.

About an hour mark, Palmer sent a low shot past Martin Dubravka to give the Blues their lead back. Then, Mudryk made it 3-1 by slipping past Dubravka and Fabian Schar and putting the ball into an empty net.

Although Jacob Murphy’s incredible goal in the ninetieth minute brought the score back to 3-2, the home team held out quite easily.
In response to the outcome, Pochettino declared: “In football, there are moments of ecstasy and moments of suffering.

“We played a very good team with amazing players, it was really tough. We made the victory, but we keep looking forward and moving forward – the most important is the three points.

“It is important for offensive players to feel the confidence and we know we can win games scoring goals, but a little disappointed the way we conceded with two mistakes that should never happen, but that is how we become more mature – we need to keep pushing.”

He said: “When they scored we thought we better defend better than we did than when we conceded. It was a great goal [from Jacob Murphy], but to get three points is a step in the right direction.
