Chelsea Open Talks To Bring Back Former Manager

Chelsea have reportedly begun the process to reunite with Antonio Conte to raise doubt about Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Although Conte has been linked to Napoli in recent weeks, Chelsea are now pursuing him in anticipation of a possible comeback. According to La Repubblica as reported by Cult of Calcio, after a dismal season, the Blues are considering firing Pochettino.

Conte is said to be considering the job, and the parties have recently communicated. His primary objective is to return to Serie A. If it were up to him, he would take over Milan. But for the time being at least, they have different plans.

To be a viable option for the Rossoneri, he would need to embrace working with the youth and embrace financially sustainability.

Owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly, submitted his proposal to Conte and is awaiting a reply. He has pledged an extensive reinforcement campaign and made a bold offer.

In his first season as manager, the Italian manager led the Blues to the Premier League title in 2016–17. The following campaign, they finished the campaign in 5th place.

The union ended in a contentious divorce, given Roman Abramovich’s ownership of the club at the time. After that, he led Tottenham and Inter for two years each.

Conte is currently out of job, and appointing the 54-year-old is going to be interesting. Considering the fact that he would request for his own type players.

And with Chelsea already in the mix of the Financial Fair Play (FFP), it would mean the Blues will have to let go some of the players they signed in a season or two.
