Chelsea Flop On The Verge Of Return To The Premier League

Nottingham Forest are set to sign former Chelsea forward, Michy Batshuayi as he edges closer to a return to the English Premier League.

In an effort to maintain their top-flight standing for a third straight season, Steve Cooper’s side are searching for more attacking options.

It is thought that Batshuayi, who has played the last two seasons for Fenerbahce and Besiktas in Turkey, is the best choice.

Forest have made an attempt to sign the Belgian player twice. The first attempt came after their promotion to the Premier League a year prior. This time, their efforts are likely to be successful.

According to Foot Mercato as claimed by The Mirror, an agreement is nearly finalized. The Reds will now try to negotiate a deal with Fenerbahce, who are rumored to seek £8m for the striker. Batshuayi has reportedly previously settled on personal terms with them.

The 51-time Belgium international would return to the Premier League with a move to the City Ground. The 29-year-old first arrived in England in the summer of 2016 after joining Chelsea in a £33 million transfer.

Batshuayi had an odd spell at Stamford Bridge. He only made 77 appearances for the Blues throughout his six-year tenure.

He still managed to rack up 25 goals. One of which was the game-winning goal against West Bromwich Albion to seal the Premier League title.
