Bayern Munich Demand €30 Million For Barcelona Right Back Target

With their acquisition of Joao Cancelo on deadline day, Bayern Munich raised many eyebrows. The disgruntled Manchester City player signed a loan agreement with the team that could become permanent in the summer.

Bayern Munich intends to use player sales to partially finance the transfer, according to Sport1. Benjamin Pavard, who has fallen out of favor under Julian Nagelsmann, is one of the candidates who might be placed up for sale this summer.

Cancelo’s contract contains a massive buyout clause worth €70m. Therefore, Bayern are asking for a hefty sum of €30m in exchange for Pavard’s services.

The Frenchman, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona lately, has had a massive fallout with his current club, which has even disrupted the harmony of Bayern’s dressing room. His lack of game-time, coupled with his poor status in the first-team means that Pavard is dead set on leaving Allianz Arena.

Pavard was made available in the market in January, with Inter Milan among the clubs interested.

However, the French international did not leave the club, as he wanted to wait until summer. It appears he is favouring a move to Barcelona.

Pavard’s agent Pini Zahavi has an excellent relationship with Barça, having notably brokered. the deal to sign Robert Lewandowski in the summer. Although, it remains unlikely that the Catalans can afford Bayern’s €30m valuation for the player.

There is, however, room for negotiations, especially given the fact that Bayern Munich themselves may want to lower Cancelo’s buy clause of €70m.
