Barcelona Vent Anger On Spain Coach, RFEF After Gavi Injury

FC Barcelona are reportedly furious with the Spanish national team manager, Luis de la Fuente and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) following the injury Gavi sustained in La Roja’s 3-1 victory Georgia in the 2024 Euros qualifying campaign on Sunday.

After preliminary examinations, it is believed that the 19-year-old has torn his ACL and will miss the entire season, which is devastating news for Spain, Barcelona and the player.

Gavi has been a regular figure for both the Barca and his country. He had been playing a lot of minutes; unfortunately, this means he will be sidelined for a considerable amount of time.

Mundo Deportivo as reported by Barca Universal claims that the Laliga giants are upset with the Federation over the circumstances surrounding Gavi’s injury.

The report also added by saying that the Blaugrana are furious with Spain head coach, Fuente and blame him for the youngster’s injury as well.

The match against Georgia was totally unimportant because La Roja had already qualified for the Euros during the last international break and had defeated Cyprus the week before.

Because of that, there was no need for the one-time world cup winners to play Gavi on Sunday night and De la Fuente had lots of other options. The club is extremely upset with the 62-year-old and the RFEF for doing so.

De la Fuente did make some changes to the starting lineup from the match in Cyprus. But just two players – defender Robin Le Normand and Gavi – were kept in the starting lineup.

De la Fuente had no need to risk a teenage star against Georgia because there were already worries that he might be exhausted from the encounter against Cyprus.
