Barcelona Transfer Target Prefers To Stay Put In South America

When it comes to finding potentials in the South American market, FC Barcelona is no stranger. However, the club has recently been unsuccessful in luring away a number of talented players. These include Endrick, Julian Alvarez, and Enzo Fernandez.

Due to this, there is now a greater focus on the South American market, with the club particularly favoring a move for Vitor Roque of Brazil.

Similar to this, Barca are also considering a deal for Fabricio Diaz, according to SPORT.

At the age of just 20, Diaz is a defensive midfielder by trade. He has already made over 100 competitive appearances for Liverpool Montevideo in his home country, Uruguay.

Numerous South American clubs have contacted Diaz about signing him as a result of his impressive displays. Barcelona are also no exception, as the club’s scouts have given the player favorable evaluations.

Notably, Flamengo has expressed a strong intent to sign Diaz at the completion of the season. They are actually in a strong position to acquire the young player. And Liverpool Montevideo have estimated him to be worth around €6 million.

According to the report, Fabricio Diaz wants to stay in South America for at least another campaign before moving on to Europe. It seems the young man wishes to spend more time on the continent in order to develop as a player.

Given that Diaz’s value could rise if the defensive midfielder maintains his rapid development in South America. This could be a possible setback for Barcelona.

It will be intriguing to see what the future brings for the young Uruguayan as the player is eager to increase his price before making the move to Europe.
