Barcelona Top Defensive Target Is Not Interested In Liverpool Move

Alessandro Bastoni has emerged as one of the most sought-after players ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Italian international is considered as one of Serie A’s best defenders, but after a lengthy stay at Inter Milan, many think it is time for him to go on.

Barcelona has surfaced as a prospective bidder for Bastoni, with the club even designating him as their top defensive target. However, the club faces stiff competition from Liverpool.

Bastoni just wants Barcelona or Inter

However, according to a recent Mundo Deportivo story, Bastoni is not interested in joining any team this summer to leave Inter Milan.

In fact, the Italian considers Inter to be his life’s club, and the only reason he would contemplate leaving is if Barcelona came knocking.

Inter, on the other hand, is making things difficult for Barcelona with a €70-80 million asking price. To that purpose, Bastoni intends to meet with Inter Milan and negotiate, urging the club to cut the fee.

This is, of course, contingent on Barcelona’s ability to raise sufficient finances to make a formal bid this summer.

It was stated yesterday that the defender sees Barcelona as a perfect destination for him, particularly from a sports standpoint.

As a result, the player is prepared to join the Catalans on the same wage as Inter Milan. He wants to join Barcelona for sports reasons above anything else.

This does not indicate that the Italian international is interested in Liverpool. He had his heart set on moving to Barcelona. In the event that this does not occur, he is quite content to remain at Inter.
