Barcelona president Joan Laporta has labelled Dro Fernandez’s departure as unpleasant, while Hansi Flick praised Marcus Rashford’s attitude as a model.
The La Masia teenager completed a shock move to Paris Saint-Germain after submitting a transfer request earlier this month.
Fernandez reportedly activated his £5.1m release clause, ending Barcelona’s hopes of securing his long-term future.

The 18-year-old had been viewed as a major prospect after impressing in the Champions League earlier this season.
His decision surprised club officials, especially after previous discussions about extending his stay beyond his eighteenth birthday.
Flick admitted frustration at the situation, suggesting young players must take responsibility for decisions made at such a crucial stage.
Flick points to Rashford commitment
The Barcelona coach instead highlighted Marcus Rashford’s commitment since arriving on loan from Manchester United.
Flick praised Rashford’s professionalism, dedication and desire to represent Barcelona during a challenging period for the club.
He stressed that wearing Barcelona colours requires full commitment, using Rashford as the perfect example for academy players.
According to Flick, talent alone is not enough without total belief in the club’s values and identity.
Laporta later echoed those sentiments while confirming Fernandez’s exit had not gone as planned, reports Mirror.
The president revealed Barcelona were blindsided after previously agreeing terms, only for the player’s agent to reverse course.
Fernandez, however, cited PSG’s history and ambition as decisive factors behind his move to France.
He expressed pride in joining the Parisian club and excitement about contributing to their long-term project.
Barcelona now face renewed scrutiny over youth retention, while Rashford’s future remains under discussion ahead of summer decisions.
