Atletico Madrid are reportedly willing to hold on to Julian Alvarez, while Barcelona are still trying to capture their best player this summer.
The Catalan giants’ attempts have so far been thwarted, but this hasn’t yet served as a deterrent.
Alvarez has been the subject of several rumours, the most recent of which is that Barcelona are about to make Atleti their final bid. However, those at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano have had enough of the constant chatter.
In an interview with El Desmarque as reported by Barca News Network this week, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo summed up these feelings by describing the Alvarez situation in blunt words.

“Julian Alvarez is an Atletico Madrid player and whoever wants Julian Alvarez should come, see the contract and, if they are interested, they will take him; and if not, then they will not take him.
“It’s a summer thing. You know how the situation is. He is an Atletico Madrid player and I think he will be remain an Atletico Madrid player.
“Whoever wants to, let them come and see the contract. I repeat it again. We have a contract with him. Enough of the story of Julian Alvarez! The day he is not an Atletico Madrid player, you will know.”
