Zidane Predicts Real Madrid Won’t ‘Find It Easy’ Against Bayern

Former Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has predicted that los Blancos will not find it easy when they clash with Bayern Munich in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League.

Zidane has reportedly been linked with the Bayern job following Thomas Tuchel’s decision to leave the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season. But, the Frenchman’s inability to speak either German or English could be a stumbling block.

According to Bavarian Football Works, that didn’t stop one of the all-time greats from sharing his thoughts on today’s Champions League match.

“The clashes we’ve had with Bayern have always been very nice games. They are the games we always want to play, because Bayern are also competitive — very, very strong.

“It’s not going to be easy. It has the status of a European classic. But at the same time, Madrid are Madrid,” Zidane told Guillermo Rai of The Athletic.

Even though Madrid are still Madrid, facing a hungry Bayern Munich team at the Allianz Arena will be extremely difficult, even for a team that has won so much, so frequently.

The Champions League is Bayern’s last hope of finishing the season with a trophy. Tuchel’s side have been knocked off their perch as Bundesliga winners following the emergence of Bayer Leverkusen under the tutelage of Xabi Alonso. They have since been knocked out of the DFB Pokal.

It’s going to be another epic European battle between the two European powerhouses’ in Europe’s elite competition.
