Zaha Frustrated With Palace Coach And Teammates After Brentford Draw

After Crystal Palace conceded a late equalizer to Brentford on Tuesday night, Wilfried Zaha was left frustrated.

Palace had a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from their star forward, but Brentford tied the game at 1-1 in the 88th minute.

A goal from Yoane Wissa for Brentford ensured that both teams took one point apiece.

Palace currently has five points from as many games, having also led against Manchester City in their previous meeting. Despite leading 2-0 at the break, Palace ultimately fell short 4-2.

Meanwhile, Zaha’s frustration comes at a time when he could try to get out of Selhurst Park.

Zaha has been rumored to be moving to a big-six club for years. This summer, Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly among those considering a move for him.

What Did Zaha Say?

“I’m lost for words. Just one lapse in concentration, it ruins all the hard work. We literally just had to keep it tight. As soon as we went in the lead we just failed to defend,” a visibly upset Zaha told BT Sport.

“I don’t see why we do that. If we just continue pressing on, I feel like we could have got a second and it just ends the game but we killed ourselves in the end.

“Our problem right now, which in due time we’ll fix, is just the last-minute goals. It just throws away the whole performance. Today is not – by far – our best performance but a game where I feel like we should leave with all three points.”
