Meanwhile, Wolves have reportedly added Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle to their summer transfer list.Julen Lopetegui’s side have already had two bids for Bristol City wonderkid Alex Scott rejected, so they are exploring for potential alternatives if that transfer falls through.

The 21-year-old was an important player for the Blades previous season, scoring four goals and assisting seven. He also scored the goal that advanced his team to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Sheffield United would like the player to return to Bramall Lane on a permanent basis but Wolves are interested in hijacking that potential deal with an approach of their own.

The 31-year-old Republic of Ireland right back is a free agent after completing his six month deal at Atletico Madrid. He made more than 300 appearances for Wolves in his first spell at the club after £75,000 move from League of Ireland side Bohemians in 2010.

Wolves have made just one signing so far this summer, bringing in 28 year old keeper Tom King on a free transfer from Northampton Town as a back up to Jose Sa and Dan Bentley.
